We want to make it as simple as possible for you to manage the costs of your health care services.
Before Your Visit
Be prepared to provide accurate information for all the insurance plans under which you are covered. If you are covered under more than one, please indicate which plan is primary.
Your Coverage
Holland Hospital participates in most major health insurance plans. However, you should verify that your insurance company lists Holland Hospital as an approved, “in network” provider. If not, you may be responsible for paying a larger portion of the charges.
Find out what services, tests and procedures your insurance provider will cover before your appointment or admission. Some may not be covered, or may require pre-authorization in order for your insurance to pay the claim. If you aren’t sure, contact your insurance company’s member services office before your visit.
Holland Hospital provides necessary medical care to all people regardless of their ability to pay. If you are having financial difficulties, we can assist you in the following ways.
Please call our Patient Financial Advocates at (616) 394-3626 to discuss any of these payment options.
Monthly Payment Plans
If you cannot pay your balance in full, our staff can help you arrange a monthly payment plan. For those having difficulty making monthly payments, an Extended Payment Plan may also be an option. Because the hospital does not charge interest, the extended terms that we offer are necessarily limited.
If you wish to set up an automatic monthly payment by credit card, our patient financial counselors can explain our convenient payment options and make the necessary arrangements with your credit card company or bank.
CareCredit - Health Care Credit Card
Patients of Holland Hospital and our medical group providers now have an additional option to finance their health care services. CareCredit is a personal credit card that can be used for unexpected health care expenses and elective services including out-of-pocket costs such as copays, deductibles and coinsurance. The card can also be used nationwide at other CareCredit affiliated business locations.
CareCredit offers a variety of payment plans that require minimum monthly payments. Some plans do not incur interest if paid in full within six months. As with any financial agreement, you should carefully review the terms and conditions to make sure CareCredit is right for your situation. To learn more and see if you qualify for CareCredit, visit their website.
Financial Assistance
Financial assistance is available based on household income and assets. Requests for financial assistance will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
Patients and their families must meet the federal poverty guidelines and provide verification of income, address and assets in order to be approved.
For patients who are uninsured, we offer a discount on services. This "Uninsured Discount" applies only to patients who have no health insurance at the time of treatment; it does not apply to balances remaining after insurance payment or for certain excluded services.
Holland Hospital has additional payment programs available. Call Patient Financial Services to see if HELP Financial is an option for you.
Application Assistance for Medicaid
Holland Hospital can help you apply for Medicaid. We are partnered with MedAssist Firstsource, a company that helps eligible patients with the application process for government programs such as, Medicaid. A MedAssist Firstsource representative may call you to pre-screen you for this service. This is free of charge to our patients in need of assistance, courtesy of Holland Hospital.
