Mon, Sep 26, 2011

HOLLAND – Sept. 26, 2011 - Careers in the healthcare industry will be the center of focus at the 6th annual Rx for Health Careers event on Tuesday, October 11.  Designed for Ottawa County area high school students and their parents, the event provides a close up look at more than 40 occupations within the healthcare field.  No registration is required and there’s no cost to attend.

“Rx for Health Careers provides a fun, interactive way for students and their parents to talk informally, one-on-one, with working healthcare professionals across a variety of occupations,” explains Kristen Bunn, event coordinator at the Careerline Tech Center.  “This free event is designed in an open-house style, and all Ottawa County area high school-aged students and their parents are encouraged to stop by the OAISD Careerline Tech Center, 13663 Port Sheldon Street, north of Holland between 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Representatives from area colleges will also be on hand to field questions about the programs they offer, course requirements, tuition, and financial assistance.”

Rx for Health Careers is a collaborative effort between the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District, Careerline Tech Center, Ottawa County hospitals, and other area healthcare organizations and colleges.  For more details about the event, please contact Kristen Bunn at 616-738-8950, extension 4512 or go online to oaisd.org/ctc
